Blog 6: Climate change and society

hello to everyone Today I going to talk about climate change and society, well... I think most people know what climate change is, if you don't know that climate change, according to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, is the "change in climate attributed directly or indirectly to human activity" altering the composition of the atmosphere, this change has been noticed in the last 30 years because it has increased dramatically. Some people do not take it as important as they should, for example, the presidents of the countries or important leaders that in spite of the fact that these changes have been announced for 30 years still do not take the necessary measures like the former president of the United States who left the agreement of Paris, being the United States one of the countries with the highest emission of carbon dioxide (the treaty of Paris was signed in 2015 in order to avoid the climate change). Some of the effects of climate change on the environment are the viability of populations in different stages of development or changes in ecosystems where endangered species are present, as well as changes in migratory patterns of birds. Also, forest fires have increased in recent years, deforesting various types of forests, as well as glaciers that have melted by 80% compared to 20 years ago, increasing sea temperatures and rising sea levels.
There are other effects, but I think that the most important one, and the one that affects everything, is the increase in temperature. As mentioned before, this causes the melting of glaciers, modification of ecosystems, desertification, extreme weather events, etc. But despite all these changes that are seen every day, in my opinion, the necessary measures have not yet been taken. Some people and companies started to recycle, reuse and reduce their waste, other people stopped eating meat or some people still do nothing, but despite these changes that have increased in recent years and it is very good that they are made, it is not enough if the mining companies, forestry, agriculture, etc.. continue not to change their way of working and continue to pollute and deteriorate the ozone layer as if we had another.
So... What are we waiting for as a society to do something? That more animals become extinct, that more cities become polluted to the point of affecting the quality of life of the residents by transforming them into areas of sacrifice, by the coal or mining companies? The changes have to be made now both personally and as a government, legislation and its fines must be changed. To begin with, carbon emissions could be reduced, for example, by riding a bicycle or walking, saving energy, using energy-saving light bulbs, disconnecting electronic devices that are not being used, reusing, reducing and recycling our waste, reducing meat consumption and, most importantly, requiring the government to make changes in accordance with our current situation.

  1. I hate that governments commit to take more care of the environment and don't

  2. I agree on many of the points you raise, I hope that the new position of public election of regional governor can deal with many of these situations in a more active way by the state

  4. Progression:

All tasks have been successfully uploaded.
On the whole, the texts hang out together quite effectively though the issues of lexical choice and grammar adequacy are still aspects to improve:

    Progression Grade: 5.0
    Completion Grade: 7.0
    Final Grade: 6.0
